I built my own Fire Staff as long and heavy as I wanted. It was very important to get a Staff that will well-suited me, because I had to set each strip in fire and start juggling with... what is quite impressive when you're just a beginner. But after some try-outs, I finaly was self-confident and I twisted with, spun and whirled it around me into the night.

What made circular fire lines and particular shapes of lightning.

Even my friend is a Fire Juggler, she is also a profesional photographer, so I started to take some pictures in long-time by her side. I had already seen many of his pictures on a pyrojonglerie, but never I had managed to reproduce a similar result ... After a lot of tests and precieuces explanations given by Martine, the result began to emerge.

Some purists argue that beyond 100 ISO the photo is 'speckled', 'fuzzy', 'grainy'. So, by choosing 100 ISO - or even 200 ISO - the required exposure time is around 1 second, the opening of the diaphragm should be around 3.5. - I my case with a Canon EOS 600D it's the maximum. I used to be very stable while the exposure&nsbp;: thanx remote control and camera holder.

Shooting

Note that : in all Martine's pictures I am the juggler. And inversely of course.

Subsequently, we tested some effects of objectives : pivot, zoom, de-zoom, ... But given the randomness of shooting, very few pictures deserve to be exposed. These photos were taken in front of the Aquarium-Museum in Liège, the lights of the city in the background are those of the Quai Paul van Hoegaerden and J. F. Kennedy bridge. They can therefore parasitize the picture or bring a touch of color.

Photomontage

The poster Fireline is a very old creation I made in 2005 during my studies at ESA Saint-Luc Liège for the course of graphic research. We were asked to perform a series of shots expressing the 'movement'. And subsequently, to make a photo montage through 3 A3 formats arranged in an original way. 1 x A3 vertical - top left - and 2 x A3 juxtaposed one above the other to complete the poster.

My photos were taken with simple compact camera, a Pentax Optio M10. Suffice to say that the hours of retouching, smoothing, sharpness ... were counted by tens. The result was worth it, this project brought me the nice note of 19/20&nbps;!
